Temporary Resident Visa is a document issued by a visa office which aims to design, develop and implement programs to facilitate the entry of temporary workers, students and visitors to Canada. Temporary Residents include visitors, students, workers and temporary resident holders.

Temporary Resident Visa maybe for single or multiple entry for a period of around 10 years. You can apply for Temporary Resident Visa for the purpose of Visiting Family, Tourism, Official Visit and Business Visit. Generally tourists are admitted to Canada for a period of approximately 6 months, although the staying period is determined by the CBSA officers at the port of entry examination.

You can extend your stay in Canada by applying for extension from within Canada. You are required to apply for extension 30 days before the expiry of your stay. You can stay in Canada under the implied status in case the permitted period of your stay expires within the time frame of waiting for approval of extension. Permanent Residents or Canadian Citizen can call their parents and siblings to Canada on the basis of Temporary Resident Visa.
